About St. Francis

Embracing poverty, humility, and simplicity, he founded the Franciscan Order, dedicated to living the Gospel message in radical service to God and others. Known for his deep love of nature, animals, and the poor, St. Francis received the stigmata, the wounds of Christ, in his later years. He died in 1226 and was canonized a saint in 1228.

Tomie dePaola (1934–2020) was a beloved American author and illustrator known for his distinctive, colorful art style and storytelling.
